ShopBack Receipts: Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in the ShopBack Receipts receipt-sharing and cashback programme (“Programme”) operated by ShopBack Australia Pty Ltd (ABN: 97 620 158 929) and its affiliates (“ShopBack”, “we”, “us”).

1.2 By taking part in the Programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and any additional rules or Programme Details presented in-app for a specific offer.

1.3  Users participating in the Programme, authorise ShopBack to collect purchase data such as from retail receipts, including receipts submitted directly in the app or imported via our “connect and sync” features, and, in consideration of providing such data, shall receive bonus rewards funded by ShopBack.

3. Eligibility

3.1 You must be at least 18 years old, reside in Australia and hold one personal ShopBack account in good standing.

3.2 We may suspend or terminate participation if you breach these Terms or commit a Fraud Event.

4. Receipt Sharing & Rewards

4.1 Submission methods – Capture receipts using the in-app camera or the other file-share routes specified in the Programme Details, or by connecting your ShopBack transaction history or an eligible external account (such as an email inbox) through our connect and sync features. Only one Eligible Receipt may be submitted per transaction, regardless of submission method.

Connect & Sync accounts – If you choose to connect an external account, you:

(a) Authorise ShopBack and its service providers to access that account on your behalf for the limited purpose of detecting receipts from participating retailers and importing them into the Programme;
(b) Confirm that you are authorised to connect and permit access to that account; and
(c) Acknowledge that we do not read or store non-receipt content from that account other than as necessary| |to identify and process Eligible Receipts.

4.2 Brand/Product Bonus (per-receipt cap) – Unless stated as “per item” in the Programme Details, a brand or product Bonus Reward is awarded once per Eligible Receipt per qualifying brand/product. Multiple appearances, quantities, multipacks, variants or duplicate OCR detections on the same receipt do not increase the bonus. Different qualifying brands/products on the same receipt may each earn one Bonus Reward, subject to applicable caps and limits.

4.3 Base Rewards are tracked after initial automated checks; Bonus Rewards are tracked when our systems detect qualifying attributes.

4.4 Validation Period – All rewards remain in a Tracked state for the period and according to the programme conditions specified in the Programme FAQ's to allow for verification checks.

4.5 Confirmation / Rejection – Rewards are confirmed to your Cashback Earnings once verification is complete. We may cancel (or claw back, reject) any Tracked or Confirmed Rewards if the associated receipt is later found invalid or fraudulent.

4.6 Receipt limits – We enforce limits on the receipts that users may submit (e.g. a weekly cap on total receipts and a per-retailer daily cap). These limits are set out in the Programme FAQ's or as otherwise notified. If these limits are breached, further submissions may be blocked.

4.7 Aged receipts – Receipts submitted that are older than the maximum age stated in the Programme Details will be rejected.

5. Licence & Data Use

5.1 By submitting a receipt (including via connect and sync features), you grant ShopBack a worldwide, royalty-free licence to extract and analyse all data present, including line-item data.

5.2 We use receipt data to:

(a) determine Base Reward and Bonus Reward eligibility;
(b) generate aggregated and anonymised marketing insights for partners;
(c) improve data processing models and anti-fraud systems; and
(d) operate promotional campaigns.

5.3 Aggregated insights never disclose your identity. You may opt out of this programme by ceasing your participation in ShopBack Receipts. However, please note you will forego any future rewards.

7.2 Please refer to our Programme FAQ's for the latest information on the current limits and restrictions.
