Payment data and security

We understand your concerns and are here to assure you that it’s our top priority to keep your data safe. So we aim to be completely transparent about how we handle your financial data.

Standards we're compliant with

Your debit and credit card numbers are safely stored with our provider and protected using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). All information sent to and from ShopBack is encrypted and securely sent using the latest 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. This just means we use an algorithm to safeguard your data and we don’t store your card information.

You can read more of our privacy policy that further explains how we may collect, use, disclose and safeguard any personal data you provide to us.

Keeping your card information safe

ShopBack is not allowed to, and never will, store any of your card details. Our security partner is Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS) compliant and they securely process your card details for Visa and Mastercard.

What transactions info ShopBack sees and can’t see

ShopBack follows strict rules on what kind of transaction data we receive. Here’s what we see and what we can’t see.

What we can see

Visa and Mastercard only share certain pieces of information when you use a linked card at one of ShopBack’s in-store partner stores.

What we can’t see

Visa and Mastercard do not share any other transaction details with us. Meaning, we can’t see your credit or debit card transactions.
