Having trouble staying connected? Whether you can’t make calls, send texts, use data, or you’re seeing “No Service” — we’ll guide you through the most common fixes step-by-step.
Start here: Quick checks (for all connectivity issues)
Try these first — they solve most problems fast:
- Make sure Airplane Mode is off
- Restart your phone to refresh the network connection
- Confirm your plan is active and not paused/suspended
- If you’re in a low-signal area, move to a different spot (window/outdoors)
- If you have multiple SIMs/eSIMs, make sure the correct line is selected for calls, texts, and data
If the issue continues, jump to the section that matches what you’re facing.
I don’t have service or connectivity (No Service / SOS Only)
If your phone shows no bars, “No Service,” or “SOS Only,” it usually means your SIM hasn’t registered with the network yet — or your device can’t connect due to setup, signal, or activation issues.
Try this first
- Restart your phone
- If you’re indoors, try moving outside or closer to a window
- If you just activated service, wait a few minutes and restart again
iPhone steps
- Settings > Cellular (confirm your plan shows Active)
- Tap Network Selection > toggle Automatic off, then try selecting a network manually
- Settings > General > About (check for Carrier Settings Updates)
- If needed: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset > Reset Network Settings
- This resets Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and cellular settings (your data stays safe)
- Restart your phone
Android steps
- Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
- Confirm your SIM is active and mobile data is on
- Go to Network Selection > toggle Automatic off, then try manual network selection
- Set Preferred Network Type to LTE/4G or 5G (if supported)
- Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset Mobile Network Settings
- Restart your phone
Still no service? It may be due to activation not completing, a temporary outage, device compatibility, or roaming settings.
I can’t use mobile data
If you can’t browse, stream, or load apps on mobile data, it may be settings, provisioning, coverage, or allowance-related.
Try this first
- Confirm your plan includes data and hasn’t hit its cap
- Restart your phone
- Toggle Airplane Mode on/off
- Test another app
- Turn Wi-Fi off if you’re specifically testing mobile data
iPhone steps
- Settings > Cellular (turn on Cellular Data)
- Scroll down and confirm the affected app has data access enabled
- Cellular > Cellular Data Options (turn on Data Roaming if traveling)
- Settings > General > About (check for Carrier Settings Updates)
- If needed: Reset Network Settings
Android steps
- Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs / Mobile Network
- Ensure Mobile Data is on and SIM is active
- Preferred Network Type: LTE/4G/5G
- If dual SIM, confirm the correct SIM is selected for data
- Reset Mobile Network Settings
- Restart your phone
If data still doesn’t work, it could be provisioning, local outage, VPN/Data Saver restrictions, allowance cap, plan suspension, or roaming coverage limits.
I can’t use roaming or connect internationally
If you’re abroad and can’t connect, roaming may be off, not included, or your device may not support the local network.
Try this first
- Confirm your plan includes international roaming
- Make sure Airplane Mode is off
- Restart your phone
- Check for “No Service,” “SOS,” or “Roaming Not Allowed”
iPhone steps
- Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options
- Toggle Data Roaming on
- Settings > Cellular > Network Selection
- Turn Automatic off and manually select a network
- Settings > General > About (Carrier Settings Updates)
- Restart and test (call/SMS/webpage)
Android steps
- Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
- Toggle on Roaming/Data Roaming
- Network Selection: turn Automatic off and manually choose a network
- Preferred Network Type: LTE/4G or 5G
- Restart and test
📌 It may take a few minutes to register on a local network after enabling roaming.
If roaming still doesn’t work, it may be plan eligibility, device lock, regional compatibility, or band mismatch between the eSIM and local carrier.
