Cancellation and refunds
All Gift Cards don’t allow:
- Refunds or cancellations.
- Validity extensions.
But always read the Gift Card’s terms and conditions for the most up-to-date info. If your Gift Card is cancelled, your Cashback will be rejected as well.
Refunds
We have to review each request on a case-by-case basis and might be subject to a 10% processing fee, based on the deal’s terms and conditions. The request must be submitted within 90 days of your purchase date. You’ll get your refund in 2-3 working days in the form of Cashback (minus the processing fee). If your deal is refunded, your Cashback will also be rejected.
Extending expiry dates
Unfortunately, we can’t extend the validity of the deal past its expiry date.
Gift Card Remaining Balance
To check the remaining balance on your gift card, please contact the brand you purchased it from. For example, if you bought a gift card from THE ICONIC, you can check your balance directly on THE ICONIC’s website.
Vouchers marked as "Used"
What Does “Used” Mean?
The “used” label is a manual tracking feature available in your ShopBack account. It allows you to mark a gift card as “used” after you’ve redeemed it, to help keep track of which vouchers are still available. This status is for your personal reference only. It does not affect the actual usability or balance of the gift card with the merchant. If the card hasn’t been redeemed yet, it remains fully valid even if marked as "used.
Common Scenarios
Here’s how the “used” status is most often misunderstood:
✅ Most commonly, users mark a gift card as “used” right after they redeem it but later forget they used it. When they receive a reminder near the expiry date, they panic, thinking they haven’t redeemed it yet.
⚠️ In rare cases, a user might accidentally mark a gift card as “used” even though it hasn’t been redeemed. In such cases, the card is still valid and can be used as long as the balance remains.
❌ Often, users don’t mark a card as used after redeeming it so when an expiry reminder is sent, they think it’s still active even though it’s already been used.
🔎 Tip: If you’re unsure whether a voucher was used, try checking your purchase history with the merchant or reviewing any past orders
Can I Still Use a Voucher That Was Marked as “Used”?
If you have marked a voucher as “used” but haven’t actually redeemed it, it’s still valid and can be used at the merchant. If you already redeemed the voucher but forgot, marking it as “used” was correct and the voucher is no longer usable.
🧠 Reminder: The ShopBack app doesn’t verify redemption status with the merchant, so always double-check if you’ve already used the voucher.
